Paul encourages Timothy to imitate him as he imitates Christ. This is not easy for us to do as the pull of the world is very strong. It’s important who we have contact with.
Paul was familiar with oposition, but that didn’t deter him from pressing on and sees persecution as part of the Christian life.
How important is the Word of God? In this chapter, it says it’s ‘God Breathed’. How can this word be relevant and accessable to people today?

Paul is giving Timothy final instructions about how to lead the church. There are some people who could damage the church with erroneous teaching, and is warning Timothy to have nothing to do with them.
Paul turns to talk about the end times and the attitudes of people in the last days seemed to be even worse than today, but are we living in the last days? We should plan as though Jesus isn’t coming back for a long time, and top live as if he’s coming back any minute.
People are influenced by people, so Paul warns Timothy of people who will corupt others.
